The main objectives of the project were as follows:
- to research the significance of the past: here we analysed such phenomena as migrations, settlements patterns, cultural identities and landscapes in the past and the present,
- to compare practices in archaeology: here we analysed such issues as field methodologies, operations and data management, information technologies, European archaeology in a world context,
- to identify the archaeological profession: here we conducted such activities as the survey of archaeologists in Europe, the place of archaeology in contemporary society, professional responsibilities and conduct, issues of training and professional competences,
- to discuss the advantages of broader public outreach of archaeological research: here we discussed issues such as how to better invite people to participate in archaeology. We also organized such activities such as: communication and awareness measures on the contemporary and European dimensions of archaeology, community involvement, education tools for schools, travelling exhibition, film festival.
