The project has achieved many technological and also, to some extent, scientific results in the first half of the project (click here).
Among the scientific results are publications that are especially reverent for archaeology. For example, Thomas E. Currie et al. discuss agricultural productivity in past society aiming at building empirically informed model for testing cultural evolutionary hypotheses. Another publication is prepared by Peter Turchin et al. where the authors present in detail Seshat which is a kind of the global history databank.
ALIGNED is also developing a number of tools as part of its goal to develop new ways to build and maintain IT systems that use big data on the web. Main tools are: Model Catalogue, UnifiedViews, RDFUnit, Dacura Data Quality Service, Booster. These tools are the key tools which ALIGNED is developing, adapting, working with, or otherwise using in the ALIGNED toolchain.
